I like a mixture of both but have to agree that when a member of a chain is recommended as a reader’s favourite restaurant in Leeds City Centre it is definitely worth further investigation.
Opening Times
Piccolino is open from 12 noon to 11pm, Monday to Saturday and 12 noon to 10.30pm on Sundays
Why is Piccolino one of Leeds’ favourite restaurants?
Piccolino offers flexibility for your dining experience. You can choose to celebrate a special occasion with a group of friends and family seated at a large ‘mezzo-style’ table or opt for the comfy ‘banquette seating’.
Their menus also provide a variety of choices to suit most appetites and food preferences.
Aside from the extensive main menu you can choose from their ‘quick menu’ which offers a smaller, lower-priced option and is served between 12 noon and 7pm.
The main menu offers Italian delights made with with fresh and seasonal ingredients – an absolute delight – oh, my word – and don’t get me started on the puddings and desserts!
My choice from the Piccolino menu
Antipasta is just the best invention and quite simply you can choose to fill your table with a selection of these delicious dishes which perfect for a group of friend who just want to relax, chat and enjoy a treat.
They have a great ‘Antipisto Misto’ to share which includes a mixture of fish, meat and vegetarian tasters.
However, I have gone off track!
My selection is:
Antipasta
Gamberoni – King Prawns served with Tuscan Bread and Garlic and Chili Butter
Followed by – well, Pizza and Pasta are definitely two of my favourite foods, however, I always feel it is a shame when visiting an Italian restaurant to choose these dishes as I enjoy this in the comfort of my own home frequently (not to this standard obviously!) – and so I select:
Al Forno
Anatra Arrosto – crispy duck with honey roast peaches with valpolicella wine sauce
and now, completely spoilt for choice:
Dolci – Desserts
Tiramasu – of course!
The only problem with this is that I almost feel like I have missed out – on all the other dishes I could have chosen.
I am a great lover of Italian food and rarely do I see a menu which hits this spot so many times over – definitely worth more than one visit!
