From Thursday 22nd October – Sunday 25th October 2009 the annual Beer Weekend with a railway bent returns!

Over 140 Real Ales will be available in the heated and carpeted Oxenhope Exhibition shed, as well as live music: Timothy Taylor’s will be hosting their own tent offering the full range of local ales; their will also be live entertainment at Keighley and its Old Spot Brewery Bar.

As well as the range of real ales on offer, there will be food available and plenty of train services running throughout the weekend.

Opening Times:

Thursday 22nd October 5.00pm – 11.00pm
with 60′s and 70′s popular vocalist/guitarist Rick Entertains from 8.00pm

Friday 23rd October 11.00am – 11.00pm

Trad Jazz double bill with The Forest New Orleans and Original Worth Valley Jazz Bands from 5.00pm

Live music – rock, blues and funk throughout the afternoon feautring Fevertrees, Eddie Earthquake & the Tremors, and Blue Kings
Dr Busker and the Dorset Rats in the evening: NOT for the faint-hearted! This is bawdy entertainment at its best!

Sunday 25th October 11.00am – 6.00pm

The Worth Rail Stompers, traditional Jazz for the afternoon

On Saturday 24th October from 6.00pm, trains arriving at Keighley will be met by pianist and vocalist Neil Wild, playing boogie, blues and rock! Wild on the Piano!

Tokens:


As with many similar events, pre-purchased tokens will be used for purchase of beer.
These will be available from the Festival Bar for £1.15 each or 9 beer tokens for £10.
One token = half a pint.

Food:


As well as the station buffets, Oxenhope will also have two catering vans and there will be food on offer at the Timothy Taylor tent.


On Saturday 24th October, there will be food available at Keighley Station.



Train & Bus Services:


kwvr_beer_festivalFor the duration of the festival, Steam and Heritage Diesel Trains will run between Keighley & Oxenhope.
Many trains will provide offer a real-ale bar service on board as well!
Keighley station is served byfrequent Northern Rail trains from Leeds, Bradford and Skipton, with some trains also coming down from Carlisle and Lancaster.

Alternatively, visitors from the Calder Valley, Manchester etc. may find it easier to travel via Hebden Bridge.
There is a frequent daytime bus service between Hebden Bridge station and Oxenhope station, and to compliment this there will be a FREE bus service linking Oxenhope with Hebden Bridge on the Friday and Saturday evenings.

Beer Festival visitors are strongly advised to purchase the all-inclusive rail ticket which provides unlimited rail travel on the day, entry to the Festival Bar at Oxenhope, and free entry to the Museum of Rail Travel at Ingrow.
