Global Day – A One Day Festival

Global Day is a one day festival taking place across the whole of Harewood, including the House State Rooms, Below Stairs, the Courtyard, the Courtyard Education Suite, the Church, as well as the Grounds and Gardens (Terrace and West Garden).

Find out more about the global heritage of Harewood and its collections, and learn about Harewood’s rich heritage from a new perspective.

Activities for all the family will  include the newly launched ‘Global Trail’ and children’s ‘Global Explorer Trail’, which will help youngsters directly link the global heritage of the collections at Harewood to wider global communities – as well as being good fun!

Events planned include drumming and percussion workshops, dance demonstrations, acrobatics, carnival costumes, a gospel choir and an orchestra, all from the four corners of the globe.

The Courtyard Cafe will be part of the action too, with a special menu celebrating global cuisine!

This event is free as part of Heritage Open Days so come along, bring a picnic for a glorious summer day of fun and entertainment at Harewood!

How To Find Harewood House

Harewood House is located seven miles north of Leeds city centre in the village of Harewood.


By Car: from Leeds take the A58 out of the centre and then the A61 Harrogate Road for just over eight miles. Once on the A61 near Harewood follow the signposts for Harewood House.


By Bus: from Leeds, you can get the number 36 bus to Harewood. This bus runs three times an hour from Monday to Saturday and twice an hour on Sundays.
