The Queen’s Golden Jubilee International Joust
in The Tiltyard

Cheer on some of the world’s top jousters as they clash head to head for H.M. Queen’s Golden Jubilee Trophy.

Watch the drama build through the heats, reaching a climax on August Bank Holiday Monday, when the overall champion will claim his trophy at a spectacular finale.

There will be two smashing heats per day at 12.15 & 14.45 with a nail biting semi-final and final concluding the tournament on Bank Holiday Monday.

And if this isn’t enough excitement, there will be circus acts and our own medieval jester Lord Flame to keep the whole family entertained.

Come early each day and pick your favourite knight in our Path To Victory parade!

All joust tickets can be bought on the day at the museum, or booked in advanced from the Royal Armouries website.

How To Find Harewood House

Harewood House is located seven miles north of Leeds city centre in the village of Harewood.


By Car: from Leeds take the A58 out of the centre and then the A61 Harrogate Road for just over eight miles. Once on the A61 near Harewood follow the signposts for Harewood House.


By Bus: from Leeds, you can get the number 36 bus to Harewood. This bus runs three times an hour from Monday to Saturday and twice an hour on Sundays.

Following the Horrid History theme of Tyrannical Tudors, the Abbey hosts a number of events and activities for the whole family!

Make a Crown

Feel like a Tudor King or Queen by making and decorating your own crown.

Archery at the Abbey

‘Have-a-Go’ archery sessions, run by local group the Panda Bowmen.

Times: 10.30am – 12noon and 2.00pm – 3.00pm
There will be a small charge of £1 for 3 arrows, all proceeds go to Panda Bowmen.
